Privacy policy

DoveVolo (www.dovevolo.com) is a free website that finds flights within a budget. This page explains what data it collects, why, and who it shares it with. In short: you can search for flights without an account and without giving any data. You only need an account to save searches and get alerts.

Data we collect

Without an account: the search details (airports, dates, budget) are used only to work out the results and are not linked to you. The prices we find feed, anonymously, the price history for each route.
With an account: your email address. To sign in we send you a link or a code: we never ask for or store passwords.
Saved searches, price alerts and alerts: the details of the searches you choose to save, your price alert settings and the deals we have sent you.
Push notifications: if you turn them on, the technical address of your device provided by the browser, which is needed to deliver them.
Feedback: if you use the Feedback form, the message and the email you choose to leave reach our inbox info@dovevolo.com. We use them only to read your feedback and reply to you.
Technical logs: like any website, our hosting providers log IP addresses and technical request data for security and to keep the service running.

Why we use it

Only to run the features you ask for: signing you in, keeping your searches, checking them every day and alerting you in the app, by email or by notification. The legal basis is the performance of the service you request. We do no advertising profiling, and we do not sell or pass on your data.

Who we share it with

We use providers that process data on our behalf, only as far as the service needs:

Supabase: database and sign-in system (email, saved searches, price alerts, alerts).
Vercel: website hosting and anonymous visit statistics (Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights).
Brevo: sending sign-in emails, alerts and feedback.
Browser notification services (for example Google, Apple, Mozilla): only if you turn on push notifications.

When you open a deal you go to the website of the company or agency (Ryanair, Wizz Air, Aviasales, Trenitalia, Italo, FlixBus, RegioJet), which has its own privacy policy. Links to Aviasales contain an anonymous affiliate code that does not identify you. Weather (Open-Meteo) and city summaries (Wikipedia) are requested by our server, without any of your data.

Some providers may process data outside the European Union, with the safeguards required by the GDPR (such as standard contractual clauses).

Cookies and browser storage

We only use technical cookies needed to keep you signed in. The "lang" cookie remembers the language you chose for the site: it is a technical cookie and needs no consent. The "Surprise me" page remembers your chosen budget and airports in your browser. To know how many people visit the site and how fast it is we use Vercel statistics: they work without cookies, do not store your IP address and only show aggregated data, so they cannot identify you. We do not use advertising cookies or profiling.

How long we keep it

Account data is kept for as long as you have the account. When you ask us to delete it, we erase your email, searches, price alerts, alerts and registered devices. The price history for each route contains no personal data.

Your rights

You can ask at any time to see, correct, export or delete your data, or object to its processing, by writing to info@dovevolo.com. You can turn off price alerts, emails and notifications from My searches and from your browser settings. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (www.garanteprivacy.it).

Changes

If we change this policy we update the date at the top. For important changes we notify everyone who has an account.
